Preparing for your Online Course --
How to get the most out of your experience
Online Training Expectations
We want to have fun together! We will provide a comfortable and interactive learning experience -- please provide the smiles. Please have your video cameras turned on during class!
Bring your whole self and show up! We are accountable to the Scrum Alliance to recommend for certification only those participants who meet these criteria:
Are you fully present during the 14 course contact hours? (Be sure to clear your agenda for the whole day)
Do you actively engage in group discussions and exercises?
Do you demonstrate a working knowledge of Scrum?
The Certified ScrumMaster® workshop is an entry-level course with pre-defined learning objectives that we are required to meet and which must be our primary focus. There will be time for questions too.
We are certain you will enjoy this workshop and we look forward to virtually meeting you! If you encounter a concern, please let us know so that we may address it and ensure that your experience is a delightful one.
Please spend ~30 minutes before class to prepare for a great online experience. This preparation will better enable you to enjoy yourself and strengthen your learning during the workshop.
Please read the Scrum Guide (19 pages).
Materials and Online Readiness
You will need paper and pens for class. It is helpful if you have Post-it notes or Index cards!
At a minimum you will also need the following components:
Broadband wired or wireless connection.
Video camera, speakers and microphone computer connections are required. For an active team-based experience, all participants need to have cameras turned on.
If you experience bandwidth issues, consider logging on with video only via the Zoom conference link and then dialing in via cell phone for audio. Note: small devices are generally not adequate for the video aspect of the training experience.
While not required, it may be helpful if you have access to a second video monitor during class time.

Start of Day
Please connect via the provided Zoom link a few minutes early each day so we can start the meeting on time. Instructors and technical facilitators will be available 30 minutes prior should you need help.
